Following seven weeks of Overwatch League action, we've reached the Finals of the league's inaugural year. Defying everybody's expectations, the two teams at the Finals will be the London Spitfire and the Philadelphia Fusion. While both teams had their moments during the regular year, they entered the playoffs as the fifth and sixth seeds respectively.
The Fusion's rush to the first ever Overwatch League Finals conducted first throughout the Boston Uprising in the Playoff's quarterfinal stage. Though the Fusion gained the upper hand in the series, both teams took their series all the way to the third game where Philly managed to shoot down Boston 3-1, winning a series that many thought would be the biggest upset of the Playoffs. However, what no one was prepared for was what Philly did in the semifinals against league favored's NYXL. At the first match, the Fusion dismantled the Excelsior 3-0 and putting them on the back foot for the next game. On day two of the show, Philly once more came out swinging and shot NYXL down 3-2, finishing off a very dominant series and making them a place in the Finals. In terms of the Spitfire, the road wasn't much simpler. In the group's quarterfinal series, London was tasked with taking down the red hot Los Angeles Gladiators. After falling to the LA team from the very first game 3-0, things looked bleak for the Spitfire. On the other hand, the group bounced back and was able to take the Gladiators in back-to-back 3-0 wins on the second day of contest. But, after that first playoff victory, another LA team blocked the route between London and also a trip the Finals: the Valiant. Commonly regarded as one of those Overwatch League's two greatest teams coming into the series, the Valiant appeared like they were going to be too much to the Spitfire to overcome. However, as soon as the series began, it became evident that London was ready to win since they shot the Valiant 3-1 in the first match and 3-0 in the second. Presently, two teams with equally improbable runs will confront in New York at the Barclay's center. The two smallest seeds at the Playoffs might need to fight for the title of Overwatch League Champion this weekend.

He is not accessible Competitive Play to provide players some time to adapt to this new meta, but players are free to offer him a whirl at Quick Play or even the Arcade.
His sizzle reel is also one of the scariest things I've ever seen in my entire life. I am serious, you guys, we totally cannot trust Wrecking Ball. He'll destroy us all and laugh in his small hamster voice while he does it. Now that Wrecking Ball is live and off the PTR, all of his Overwatch League skins are available, which means you're able to deck him out in the colours of your favorite team. Wrecking Ball is the match's 28th hero, and the next tank hero has been added to the game after launching, after Orisa. Have a look at our manual to Wrecking Ball for tips on the best way to play him. A new patch is still live, and that means exciting new things have come to Overwatch. There are five major changes to the game with today's patch, and among these is the most recent hero: Wrecking Ball. Wrecking Ball won't be available in Competitive Play for fourteen days, but the rest of the changes are extremely relevant to all levels of drama and ability.
Wrecking Ball is the newest hero, and he is a powerful zone tank who can swing around and smash to enemies. He must be a nice addition to the game, but it looks like he's got quite a high ability cap. Also, he's a sweet fat man who pilots a murder mech and I really don't know what else you could possibly want. THERE ARE SOME SERIOUS SOMBRA CHANGES Sombra's rework has gone through, which permits her to possess infinite stealth (but eliminates her ability to competition goals while stealthed), and an infinite translocator that can be destroyed by enemies or removed by Sombra herself. She can also hack reloading enemies to interrupt the procedure, which can be pretty sneaky. This is the second significant set of changes to Sombra, and the two reworks have focused around making her a stealthy hacker who can still assassinate enemies. This second pair of tweaks should hopefully do the trick; she seems like a blast to play. The first season of the Overwatch League has almost come to a conclusion, but before it does, we have one set left: the Finals. In a matchup few might have maybe seen coming, the first ever Overwatch League Finals will be played between the Philadelphia Fusion along with the London Spitfire.
Heading into the playoffs, both of these sides were the lowest to qualify for postseason play. But, after two dreadful series each, contrary to some of the league's best teams, both the Spitfire and the Fusion have proven that they deserve their place in the spotlight. While it's been a while, this is not the first time that these two teams will face off against one another on a major point. Back in playoffs of Phase 2 the first game up was that the Fusion up against the Spitfire. The Spitfire were Stage 1 winners, while the Fusion barely managed to sneak into playoffs with a little bit of fortune, so all signs pointed to the Spitfire advancing to the Finals. Nonetheless, in a tense five map collection, the Fusion barely managed to come out on top, clinching their success in a tense Route 66 map. A whole lot has changed for these two teams because that playoff game, and it is fair to say that both teams may enter this match with near an even chance of winning. Much like the rest of the game, the Finals are going to be a three-match series, with each game consisting of a five-match series, the first team to win two games will be crowned Overwatch's first league champion. All these champions could work as a great boosters in various Overwatch boosting services! As always, the matches can be seen on the Overwatch League Twitch channel, while Friday's will also be aired on ESPN. Despite just beginning to publish work in 2014, Wong is currently an incredibly accomplished writer, particularly in short fiction, a group that gets her both a World Fantasy Award and a Nebula Award, as well as a Losuc Award for Best Novelette.
While the group behind Overwatch have created great narratives and tales for the game up to now, the lore of Overwatch has consistently felt rudderless since its release. The launch of comic books and cinematics have also noticeably slowed. In November 2016, the graphic novel Overwatch: First Strike was cancelled. But, with such a talent and accomplished author as Wong joining the team as a new inclusion, hopefully she will have the opportunity to do more than write short, unconnected short stories about the Overwatch world class. Rather, maybe Wong's hiring will assist push Overwatch's lore forward. |
