The first season of the Overwatch League has almost come to a conclusion, but before it does, we have one set left: the Finals. In a matchup few might have maybe seen coming, the first ever Overwatch League Finals will be played between the Philadelphia Fusion along with the London Spitfire.
Heading into the playoffs, both of these sides were the lowest to qualify for postseason play. But, after two dreadful series each, contrary to some of the league's best teams, both the Spitfire and the Fusion have proven that they deserve their place in the spotlight. While it's been a while, this is not the first time that these two teams will face off against one another on a major point. Back in playoffs of Phase 2 the first game up was that the Fusion up against the Spitfire. The Spitfire were Stage 1 winners, while the Fusion barely managed to sneak into playoffs with a little bit of fortune, so all signs pointed to the Spitfire advancing to the Finals. Nonetheless, in a tense five map collection, the Fusion barely managed to come out on top, clinching their success in a tense Route 66 map. A whole lot has changed for these two teams because that playoff game, and it is fair to say that both teams may enter this match with near an even chance of winning. Much like the rest of the game, the Finals are going to be a three-match series, with each game consisting of a five-match series, the first team to win two games will be crowned Overwatch's first league champion. All these champions could work as a great boosters in various Overwatch boosting services! As always, the matches can be seen on the Overwatch League Twitch channel, while Friday's will also be aired on ESPN.
